Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park celebrated its 25th anniversary. This marine protected area was created in 1998 with the aim of protecting and restoring biodiversity along the coast from Arrábida to Cape Espichel.
To celebrate this anniversary the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF - Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas) organised a conference on Friday 13 October at the Santiago Fortress.
Manuel Vieira represented FISH BIOACOUSTICS LAB and presented the preliminary results on the first characterization of the soundscape of this emblematic location. The work presented is the focus of the theses of Noelia Rios (PhD student of MARE-ISPA) and Jodanne Pereira (masters student in the International Master in Marine Biological Resources - IMBRSea).
